[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]JANUARY 22, 2007[/FONT] -- [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Pharmacies in Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. in Monroe County will carry a new brochure to educate the public about preparing for pandemic influenza, according to published reports. The initiative also includes a Web site launched by the county.
The brochure informs consumers to prepare for pandemic flu by stocking up on food and water, and keeping prescription drugs handy.
Although pandemic flu, or a widespread outbreak of a potentially fatal influenza, hasn't yet occurred, but avian flu outbreaks Southeast Asia have recently prompted health authorities to plan to anticipate such an event.
