World Online staff

Monday, May 22, 2006
What would happen to health care in Kansas if a pandemic flu struck the state? A symposium designed to address health care questions can be seen this afternoon on a state Webcast.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment will feature a Webcast of today's Pandemic Influenza Symposium, which will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Salina. The event is being held at the Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure Center, 625 N. Hedville Rd. in Salina.

To see the Webcast, go to www.kdheks.gov at 1:30 p.m.

The pandemic flu health care symposium is one of several informational meetings being hosted this month by KDHE and the Kansas Adjudant General's Department. Other symposiums have focused on the affects of pandemic flu on domestic fowl and game birds, on faith-based and community advocacy organizations and on government and public safety.
Symposiums targeted to assist industry, small and medium-sized businesses and schools will be scheduled this summer, according to KDHE.
