Water filter that can remove viruses

Somebody named Michael Pritchard has invented and now has on the market a water bottle that will sterilize filthy water. It filters out viruses by using a membrane with a filter size of 15 nanometers.

The "Lifesaver" bottle is not cheap at $150, but cheaper than the cost water-borne illness.

Hope this does not violate policies here. I don't know how to let people know about it without mentioning the product itself. I ran across it on www.ted.com. can it be used to filter air ?

I think, we won't filter water, but rather add chlorine to it (?)

If their claims are correct it would do a good job. However, at their site http://www.lifesaversystems.com/index.html I could not get an exact specification of the micron level they filter down to.

For the price I would spend the money on a Berkey ceramic filter. They provide a much larger quantity of water and the filters are cleanable. We have been using our first set for years.

I remember, they used them in 1918 to filter bacteria and thus
figured out the swine in 1918 had a virus and not a bacterium
