Whooping cough cases up to 28 in Grant County

The Grant County Health District continues to see new cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, and is up to 28 cases since August, officials said Tuesday.
Cases are coming from Quincy, Ephrata and Moses Lake, with some linked by household members or close contacts. But the origin of some illness are unknown.
No one is hospitalized with whooping cough, but an infant died from it Aug. 24.
