Liza Northrop Beale Is Latest Local Victim Of Swine Flu

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The general manager of a weekly newspaper in Washington County has died of complications from the H1N1 virus.
WTAE's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported 49-year-old Liza Northrop Beale died on Saturday. She had been in the hospital since Nov. 13, the Trib reported.
Beale was the general manager of The Almanac and the editor of Southpointe Today and Suburban Living, a pair of magazines published by the Observer Publishing Company of Washington. She had also been serving as the vice president of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Foundation.
Beale is the fourth person in Washington County to die from the virus and is the 18th death in Western Pennsylvania.
