Spokane Regional Health District confirms measles case identified in Spokane County
Officials said the risk to the general public is low since most people have immunity to the infection through vaccination.​

SPOKANE, Wash. — Officials with the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) have confirmed that a Spokane County resident has been infected with measles.

According to SRHD, the resident was exposed to the infection while outside the country. Officials said the risk to the general public is low since most people have immunity to the infection through vaccination.

However, SRHD is still advising residents to check their children's and their own vaccination status to verify they are up-to-date with the measles mumps rubella vaccine (MMR).

SRHD also released a list of places where the individual was before being diagnosed. Anyone who was in the following locations during the times listed may have been exposed.

Sunday, Feb. 11, 9:30 p.m.-Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, 12:30 a.m., Spokane International Airport, Concourse B
Monday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Deer Park Library, 208 S. Forest Ave., Deer Park
Monday, Feb. 12, 4-8:30 p.m., Rozy’z Hot Shotz, 617 S. Fir Ave., Deer Park
Monday, Feb. 12, evening hours (still being determined), Taco Bell, 807 S. Main Ave., Deer Park
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Creekside Kenpo Karate, 3506 Eloika Rd., Deer Park
Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, 4:30-7:15 p.m., Horizon Credit Union, 900 S. Main St., Deer Park

Officials said anyone at the locations listed who isn't immune to measles would likely get sick between February 18 and March 8, 2024. Those experiencing symptoms should contact their health care provider...

Two more cases of measles reported in Spokane County, all cases within the same household so far

Two more Spokane residents have contracted measles following an outbreak last month. All of the three measles patients are unvaccinated and live in the same household, health officials said.

So far, the highly infectious disease has not been shown to have spread beyond this household, but the possibility of more cases remains for several weeks.​..

King County Public Health monitoring potential measles case

Public Health for Seattle and King County is looking into a potential measles case. Last week, the Washington State Department of Health informed Public Health that a group of 13 international travelers visiting Seattle were exposed to people with measles before coming to Seattle.

Public Health said there are currently no cases of measles within the group or King County, but the department is monitoring the situation for potential outbreaks.

Public Health added that investigators tested the group for measles immunity and gave them instructions on how to watch for symptoms. The group was told to watch for symptoms for at least 21 days.​..

Child with highly contagious measles virus was at West Seattle clinic

SEATTLE — A child who was infected with measles was at a West Seattle urgent care clinic on Monday, possibly exposing others to the highly contagious virus.

That’s according to officials at Public Health – Seattle & King County, who say the child was at Franciscan Urgent Care – West Seattle while they were infected, but before they had been diagnosed.

Anyone who was at the clinic during the time when the child was there on June 10 may have been exposed. The virus can remain in the air for up to two hours after the infected person leaves the area.

The time frame for possible exposure at the clinic at 4755 Fauntleroy Way Southwest, Suite 110, is from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The infection likely happened while the child, who was not vaccinated, was traveling outside the U.S...

Public Health – Seattle & King County is investigating a confirmed measles case in an adult with recent international travel. The individual was at multiple locations in Bellevue, Seattle, and Woodinville while infectious, before being diagnosed with measles. Anyone who was at these locations during the time span when the individual was there on June 27th through July 2nd may have been exposed to measles.​...

...The infected individual was at several locations during a period when they were infectious but before being diagnosed with measles. The time for exposure includes the period when the individual was at the locations listed below and two hours after. Measles virus can remain in the air for up to two hours after someone infectious with measles leaves the area. Anyone who was at the following locations during the times listed could have been exposed to measles:
