? During week 8, 31 (11.6%) of 268 specimens tested by the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Laboratories in Washington were positive for influenza. During the past four weeks, 78% of positive specimens have been influenza A viruses. Of the subtyped influenza A specimens, 69% were influenza A H3 viruses. There has been an increase in detection of influenza A (2009 H1N1) viruses over the past 2 weeks.
? Both the proportion of outpatient visits for influenza-like illness (ILI) and emergency room visits for influenza-like illness remained below baseline.
