Janet Gwen Griffith

GRIFFITH, Janet Gwen Janet Gwen Griffith, 49 years old, who lived at Newport, (Diamond Lake), WA, died on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, WA after losing a 14 year battle with Lupus and being stricken with the H1N1 virus.
Janet was born February 7, 1960 in Spokane, WA to Harvey and Carolee Griffith and grew up in Elk, WA where she spent her childhood days. Janet is survived by her mother, Carolee Griffith, of Newport, WA; son Josh Griffith and life-partner, Debra Powell of Newport, WA; son Jeremy Griffith and wife, Amber, of Nine Mile Falls, WA; daughter Jenell (Nellie) Smith of Newport, WA; grandson Conrad Griffith of Nine Mile Falls, WA; sister Julie Campos and brother-in-law, Armando, and niece, Erika of Las Vegas, NV; step- children Rachel, Charlene, and Brian and five step-grandchildren of Spokane, WA; devoted cousins Cheryl Wares of Chattaroy, WA and Carol Griffith of Newport, WA; great-aunt Jeanne Buckley of Spokane, WA; "favorite uncle" Toots Griffith of Spokane, WA; aunts, uncles, and cousins who are parts of the extended families from the Bronkhorst, Coldsnows, Dunbar, Griffith, and Smith families, and friends; Cowboy and Mister, dogs and sleeping partners at the home. Janet is predeceased by her father, Harvey Griffith (April 1998); her grandmother Matilda Griffith (November 1970); her grandmother, Susan Dunbar (June 1996); her grandfather, Ronald (Bud) Dunbar (May 1980); her cousins, Paul Griffith, (May 2004) and Dennis Fisher, (January 2008); her uncle, Al Vanos, (August 2008); family cat, Cassie, and her protector and long-time companion, Sarah, (German shepherd), (July 3, 2009). A memorial service/potluck dinner in honor of Janet and her life is scheduled for December 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Camden Grange, in Camden, WA. Calls and cards can be sent to the family home at Diamond Lake.
