The Vermont Health Department says the number of cases of the highly contagious lung ailment whooping cough is up in the state.
So far 27 cases of whooping cough, also known as pertussis, have been confirmed in Vermont this year, including six cases in the past month.

Of the recent cases, four were in Chittenden County with one each in Washington and Bennington counties. Probable or suspected cases have been reported in Chittenden, Addison and Windham counties.

MONTPELIER ? The Vermont Health Department says the number of cases of whooping cough is continuing to go up in the state.
In the last six weeks there have been 26 confirmed cases of whooping cough, known formally as pertussis, and 47 cases this year. Suspected or confirmed cases have been reported or are under investigation in 11 Chittenden County schools.
