Measles case confirmed in Vermont

MORRISVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) - Health officials have confirmed a case of measles in Vermont.
The Vermont Health Department says a school-aged child in Lamoille County was diagnosed with the virus.
They say the child got sick after traveling internationally with their family.
Health officials say the risk to the public is low because the child has been mostly isolated. But they were at Copley Hospital’s emergency room on Sunday night. The hospital has reached out to known visitors to the ER during that time. They’re asking anyone who was inside Copley’s Emergency Department in Morrisville between 3:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, to follow the instructions listed on their website.
This is the first case of measles in Vermont in 2025, following two cases in 2024 and two cases in the decade prior, one in 2011 and one in 2018...
