Richmond boy, 9, dies from meningitis

State Health Dept. investigating how he got it

The State Health Department is investigating how a 9-year-old Richmond boy caught the disease that caused his death on August 5.

Christian Rands died less than a week after contracting meningitis. The health department said it's unclear if Rands had a viral or bacterial meningitis.
