This morning, May 6, Dr. Pham Van Son, Director of the 7A/Military Zone 7 Hospital in HCM City, said that a patient who had died in his hospital had positive test for A/H1N1 influenza.

It is strange that the patient did not have exposure to poultry and his relatives did not have flu.

The patient is Mr. Nguyen Huu C, from District 11, who was hospitalized on May 2 due to breathing difficulties and died on May 3.

Reportedly, two days before his illness, the man visited the Sac forest in Can Gio District, HCM City, with members in his veterans? association.

Currently, in parallel to H7N9 and H5N1 flu, H1N1 influenza also tends to increase.

According to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, in the last five weeks, A/H1N1 flu on human has increased highly. In the first four months of 2012, the number of A/H1N1 flu cases accounted for 46 percent of all flu cases. In less than a month, at least three people died of A/H1N1 flu in Vietnam.
