Vietnam - Quang Ninh: A new poultry outbreak of avian influenza A / H5N1

Accordingly, the outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza has caused 2,720 sick chickens, died on the total of 5,000 chickens 25 days of age of a chicken households in the area of ​​village 1, Lien Vi commune, Quang Yen provincial town. Quang Ninh. As soon as the outbreak was detected, the Provincial Animal Health and Veterinary Department coordinated with the local authorities to implement preventive measures as regulated. The Department of Animal Health and Animal Health of Quang Ninh province has monitored and sampled sick chickens for testing. The results showed that samples of the above mentioned chicken were positive for influenza A / H5N1. Immediately thereafter, Quang Ninh Sub-Department of Animal Health and Animal Health, Quang Yen Town Veterinary and Animal Health Station destroyed all poultry in households with dead poultry. Previously, there was an outbreak of H5N1 in Quang Ninh in a livestock farm in zone 2, Hai Yen ward, Mong Cai city (19 days ago). The number of sick and dead birds was 320 (240 ducks and 80 ducks) and the number of poultry destroyed was 670 (570 ducks and 100 ducks). Recently Dak Lak province has destroyed 3,475 ducks and 90 chickens of families in the area infected with H5N1 avian influenza. The above mentioned birds belonged to Pham Thanh Trinh in Hamlet 17, Ea Ro village, Ea Sup district, which tested positive for H5N1 avian influenza virus.
