In 2011, disease in cattle and poultry decreased 60% from year ago

Department of Animal Health said in 2011 that all three types of blue-ear disease (in pigs), avian influenza and foot and mouth disease (in cattle, pigs) are lower than in 2010. In particular, PRRS occurs in two phases in 35 provinces, cities, bird flu has occurred in 82 communes, 43 districts of 22 provinces and foot and mouth disease occurred in 35 provinces city. The total number of infected cattle nearly 141 thousand, which destroyed more than 39 thousand, down nearly 60% over the previous year. The epidemic in cattle and poultry had been controlled, no locality on three types of service.

Total number of poultry deaths and destruction is over 150,000, down about 50% compared to 2010. In addition, no infectious poultry diseases and death.
