The latest update of the Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that from the beginning of 2023 until now, there have been 7 outbreaks of avian influenza A/H5N1 in the provinces: Ninh Binh, Cao Bang, Nghe An, Quang Nam. The total number of infected, dead and destroyed poultry was 9,604 birds. Currently, there has been no outbreak of bird flu in less than 21 days.

Compared to the same period in 2022, the epidemic area and epidemic level both decreased. Specifically, the number of outbreaks decreased by more than 82%, the number of provinces and cities with epidemics decreased by more than 38% and the number of culled poultry decreased by 87%.
