In the last 24 hours, two new positive cases of covid-19 were registered in Venezuela to bring the total number of infections to 331, according to the information offered by Delcy Rodr?guez on Wednesday.

In the same speech, referring to the current status of the positive cases, Rodr?guez specified that 105 patients are asymptomatic, 69 have mild respiratory failure, 3 moderate respiratory failure and 2 patients are confined to Intensive Care Units.

Nicol?s Maduro announced this Thursday the detection of two new cases of COVID-19 in Venezuela, to reach the figure of 333 infected.

The new cases correspond to two male patients; the first is a 25-year-old from the Aragua state, from Colombia.

The second case corresponds to a militiaman in the Apure state who provides surveillance services to the Clap and Mercal; her mother is also infected with the coronavirus.

Maduro also announced that so far 16 Venezuelans have died from the disease abroad, highlighting the case of Michelle Mart?nez, a national badminton team who died in Colombia at the age of 22.

In Venezuela the number of recovered patients remains at 142, another 89 are in hospitals, 68 in CDI, 24 in private clinics, and 10 deaths remain.

Jorge Rodr?guez, Minister for Communication and Information, said today that in the last 24 hours Venezuela has registered 10 new cases of COVID-19.

Eight of the cases correspond to the focus of the Nueva Esparta state, the other two are from the T?chira and Miranda states.

T?chira's case corresponds to a 34-year-old patient, while in Miranda it is a 30-year-old patient, a collaborator of the Cuban Medical Mission.

As for the Nueva Esparta state, Rodr?guez indicated that all the infections are related to the baseball school that did not comply with the quarantine, including a nine-year-old girl daughter of a National Guard.

With these cases Nueva Esparta adds 108 and Venezuela totals 345 infections by COVID-19.

The minister also explained that 112 people are asymptomatic and two are in intensive care.

On the other hand, he reiterated that the use of the mask is mandatory and that there is no intention to relax the quarantine in the country, since according to the government, doing so would mean the possibility of exponential growth in new cases of COVID-19 in a few days.

6 new cases of Covid-19 in Venezuela raise the national figure to 367

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicol?s Maduro, reported this Saturday that in the last 24 hours Venezuela has recorded 14 new cases of patients infected with covid-19, which increases the total number to 402 positive cases.

From the Miraflores Palace, the Head of State explained that these new cases are geographically distributed (3) in Apure, (2) in Nueva Esparta (Imported from Colombia), (2) in Aragua (Imported from Colombia), (1) in Caracas (Caricuao) and (6) cases in Miranda.

Coronavirus cases in Venezuela totaled 459 infected, with four positive cases registered this Friday, May 15.

This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Information of Nicol?s Maduro, Jorge Rodr?guez, detailing that two of the cases are from Vargas, one from Miranda and the other from Barinas.

It is about three women and one man. Two of them came from Chile and one from Ecuador on flights of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria.

He announced that they will strengthen "care protocols" for those who enter Venezuela through Colombia (Apure, T?chira and Zulia) and Brazil (Bol?var, Amazonas and Delta Amacuro).

The official said that between 70% and 80% of those infected in May are from Venezuelans who came across the borders.

Rodr?guez assured that there are 229 people recovered, 50% of those infected. Of the sick, 98 are in hospitals, 104 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers and 18 in private clinics.

Tests per million inhabitants

He stated that 18,008 tests per million inhabitants have been carried out in the country, without specifying whether they are rapid tests or PCR, which are the most effective for detecting coronaviruses.

He explained that before they are discharged, people undergo two PCR tests, according to the protocol that China follows to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Rebound of 45 new cases of COVID-19 increase the number to 504 infections in Venezuela

This Saturday, May 16, the largest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 was reported in Venezuela, since the official announcement of the first two infections on March 13. Vice President Delcy Rodr?guez reported on 45 new diagnoses, distributed in six states, bringing the national figure to 504 cases.

The largest number, 30 infections, were detected in the Capital District and are distributed in hotels for the quarantine of Venezuelan migrants returned from countries such as Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Brazil. In Nueva Esparta, nine cases were confirmed, three in Barinas, one in Anzo?tegui, one in Amazonas and one in Aragua.

The official said that they are 19 women and 26 men. He stressed that all of them are in isolation and are cared for in health centers.

Mostly "imported"

Rodr?guez noted that of the 45 confirmed cases, 34 are “imported”. 21 correspond to infected Venezuelans from Peru, 11 from Colombia, one from Ecuador and one from Brazil.

"The first case is of community transmission, it is a 67-year-old woman from Aragua state, she is a doctor, from Nueva Esparta who was attending the focus of that state," Rodr?guez said.

Another case of COVID-19 occurred in a 17-year-old adolescent from Barinas, with a six-week pregnancy and asymptomatic. He was in Cali, Colombia and arrived in Venezuela on May 7 through the border with T?chira; Another contagion is from a 31-year-old man from Anzo?tegui, who arrived from Brazil on April 28.

Rodr?guez assured that all were detected at the border posts.

"21 people infected on a flight from Peru that arrived in Venezuela on May 8, 13 are women and eight men. They fulfilled isolation protocol and mandatory 14-day quarantine, in addition to rapid and molecular testing protocols, are asymptomatic, "he added.

Likewise, he specified that nine people arrived from Colombia through T?chira and Apure. Of that number three are women and six men. A third classified group is made up of nine Nueva Esparta soldiers who participated in an investigation at the different command posts on the island. Rodr?guez referred to this group as a new focus of the Macanao Peninsula.

"Attention Venezuela, we cannot relax, we must maintain social isolation, the mandatory use of masks, as well as prevention measures."

He also said that 241 people are recovered, for a rate of 47, 8%, 110 are in hospitals, 125 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers and 18 in private clinics. The death toll from COVID-19 continues in 10 cases. He explained that of the 263 cases that still remain active, 165 have no symptoms.

After reporting 45 new cases of COVID-19 in Venezuela this Saturday, Vice President Delcy Rodr?guez reported that the spike in infections continued after less than 24 hours, with 37 more confirmed positive diagnoses.

The greatest number of cases were registered again in the Capital District with 33 (on Saturday they were 30), while in Apure there are four new infections. 25 are men and 12 are women.

Rodr?guez emphasized once again the characteristic of “imported” in most of the cases (33). He explained that 19 are people from Peru and 14 from Colombia. The remaining four infections are community.

Venezuelans who arrived from Peru did so on board a flight on May 8. These are eight women and 11 men, who were asymptomatic.

“Of 14 who came from Colombia, seven entered through Apure and seven through T?chira. They are all isolated in sentinel health centers where the treatment approved by the Presidential Commission is being applied to them, ”he said.

Community cases

The community broadcast affected a 33-year-old man from Apure. He is a doctor and had contact with a positive case, according to Rodr?guez. Another case of this type and in the same state, corresponds to a 46-year-old woman from the Cuban medical mission. She is asymptomatic and confined in a Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI).

Two men, one 31 and the other 29, also from the Cuban medical mission in the llanera entity, were positive after having contact with an infected person.

"Of the 541 cases, 213 are community, 233 imported and 95 by international contacts. It has gone after the chain of contact of these people and has gone much further, "said Rodr?guez. He also assured that the efforts are directed to avoid more outbreaks of COVID-19 contagion in Venezuela, especially for the "imported" cases.

Of the total, 290 patients have the active virus and 241 are recovered. The death toll remains at 10.

He said that most of the cases are from Colombia with 97, followed by Peru (44), Spain (29), Brazil (24), among others. He added that 575,374 tests have been carried out to detect COVID-19 throughout the country, for 19,179 tests per million inhabitants.

Caracas, May 19 (Sputnik) .- Venezuela records the highest number of infected in a day, with 77 positive cases and the total number of patients with covid-19 disease amounts to 618, including the 10 deceased, the vice president reported Monday. Delcy Rodr?guez.

"In the last 24, 77 new cases have been detected, to increase the number of cases registered by covid-19 to 618, 83 percent of these cases are imported," Rodr?guez said through the Venezuelan state television channel.

The official noted that of 41,933 Venezuelans from Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru who recently returned to the country, 220 were positive.

Given this situation, the Government decided to enact a curfew in the P?ez municipality of the Apure state (south), bordering Colombia.

"We want to announce that President Nicol?s Maduro has decided to enact a curfew in the P?ez de Apure municipality from 16:00 (local time - 20:00 GMT) to 10:00 (local time - 14 GMT)," he said.

A total of 131 new coronavirus infections in Venezuela were registered this Tuesday, May 19. This was reported by the Minister of Communication and Information of the Nicol?s Maduro administration, Jorge Rodr?guez.

Of the total of 131 new infections, 110 came from compatriots who entered through the border: 81 from Colombia, 23 from Brazil and 6 from Ecuador. With this figure, the highest since COVID-19 arrived in the country, to date there are 749 people with the disease, 253 of whom have recovered.

Of the imported ones that entered through Colombia, 75 correspond to the T?chira state, three to Lara, one to Apure and another to Zulia. The 23 from Brazil are from Bol?var and the six from Ecuador are from Lara.

21 cases were registered in the country. Of these, 15 by community transmission and six by contact with sick people who came from abroad.

Most of those affected in Venezuela were members of the Cuban medical mission in the state of Apure, who were infected during the care of Venezuelans who return to the country through the P?ez municipality of that border state.

There were also cases in Aragua, Lara, Falc?n, Miranda, Sucre, Monagas, M?rida and Barinas.

Eight cases in Apure
