Venezuela announces large reduction of cases of influenza A (H1N1)

According to the Venezuelan News Agency, the National Director of Epidemiology, Miriam Morales, said that during the year only 1,441 reported cases of seasonal virus A, but only 63 were confirmed.
According to numbers presented by Morales, the National Institute of Health maintains a strong epidemiologic surveillance for four percent of cases certified to the illness, which causes the last year of nearly five thousand deaths.
