UW-Madison Official Says H1N1 Flu Wave Likely
More Cases Expected As Students Start Classes

MADISON, Wis. -- University of Wisconsin-Madison's top health official said she's expecting another wave of H1N1 flu cases as students return for the spring semester.
Sarah Van Orman, executive director of University Health Services, said the campus was hit with "an extremely large peak" of the so-called swine flu cases at the beginning of the fall semester, and then a smaller one in November.
She told the Board of Regents on Friday she is expecting a third peak at the beginning of the spring semester, but noted the flu is hard to predict.
Van Orman said the good news is the disease is turning out to be relatively mild and not as severe as initially feared.
