STAFF WRITER 16:52 HRS IST
Dehradun(Uttarakhand), Sep 24 (PTI) Three infants have died of high fever in remote hilly Pinswar village of Tehri, 80 km from here, prompting health officials to rush medical teams to the area.

"We have received reports that 3 infants have died due to high fever in the village in the past few days," said Chief Medical Officer of Tehri, B C Pathak, today.

As per unconfirmed reports, several other children have also developed similar symptoms. The district headquarters could not get the information in time due to failure of communication links in heavy rains, he added.

Pathak said medical teams comprising of paediatricians and pharmacists along with medicines have been rushed to the affected village, which can be reached only after trekking a distance of 18 km on foot.
