Re: Utah reports no death in Week 52
Week 52:
A total of 26 deaths related to 2009 Pandemic A (H1N1) have been
reported to public health this influenza season. No new deaths were
reported to public health within the last reporting week.
Influenza is currently circulating at a level that is typical for what is seen
during regular flu seasons. ILI activity in Utah decreased from what was
reported last week.
For the past reporting week (MMWR Week 52), the ILI rate for Utah is
1.2% (down from 1.6% last week).
This week?s value is slightly above the Utah ILI outbreak threshold
of 1.1%.
A total of 878 influenza-associated hospitalizations (IAHs) (due to both
seasonal and 2009 pandemic (H1N1) strains) have been reported to public
health this influenza season. This is 13 more than reported last week (last
week?s total IAHs was 865). Of the 13 IAHs reported this week, 3
occurred within this last reporting week (12/27/09 to 01/02/10), and 10
occurred prior to that but were not reported to public health until this
week. In some instances reporting lag times exist from the time the
hospitalization occurs to when it is reported to public health.
