Usage Patterns for Social Network/Gaming Sites as Sentinel System for Pandemic

People are creatures of habit. And many people I know are habitual users of myspace.com, facebook.com, and online games Everquest, Final Fantasy and World of Warcraft. It would be interesting to see if usage/login patterns will correlate and predict the progress of the pandemic (at least among the younger demographic).

The sad thing, if the pandemic becomes a deadly wildfire - many such user accounts will go inactive and become electronic snapshots of lives lost. Not to mention the heartbreaking posts of people documenting the loss of loved ones. :(
