Utah health officials are confirming a death from West Nile Virus.

In its weekly report, the Utah Department of Health identified one death related to the mosquito-borne illness.

Nineteen cases have been reported statewide, according to the report.

The first death from West Nile virus in Los Angeles County in 2019 has been reported, health officials say.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The first death from West Nile virus in Los Angeles County in 2019 has been reported, health officials say.

A South Bay resident was recently hospitalized and died from the mosquito-borne disease, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

Health officials have documented nine cases of West Nile in Los Angeles County this year, but this is the first death.

West Nile death confirmed in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ky.
Health officials have confirmed that someone in Jefferson County has died as a result of West Nile virus.

Few details were immediately available, but the health department did say it is the first death in the county and the second case of West Nile.

The first human case in the county was confirmed in mid-September.

Southern Nevada Health District: First West Nile death in Clark County

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting the first West Nile virus death in Clark County.

The department reports the victim was a woman over the age of 50 and a Clark County resident. She also had previously stated she had a neuroinvasive illness.
