KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ? A child is dead after being found in a hot car in a Knoxville shopping center parking lot.

According to WBIR, officials were called to the Food City at Merchants Road around 3:00 Friday afternoon. Officers found the child dead in the vehicle when they arrived.

COLUMBUS, Neb. ? A 1-year-old child in Columbus has died after being left in a hot vehicle.

Columbus Police told the Lincoln Journal Star the report of an unattended death came in around 5:51 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said a 37-year-old woman had reportedly left her son in the back seat of the car in the parking lot of her place of employment.

LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -- It was just about 5 p.m. Sunday night when someone saw a baby boy sitting in the car in front of a family member?s home at Easy Living Mobile Home Park in Lawrence. Monday night, police still aren?t saying whether they think this was an accident or something even worse.

Lawrence police held a press conference Monday afternoon, but answered very few additional questions related to the death of that boy.

2-year-old Devonte Turner was staying with relatives in the mobile home park and for reasons still unknown, was left inside a sweltering car.

A child who died in a hot car outside Mighty Cubs Daycare in Booneville on Aug. 16 was identified Friday as 21-month-old Lincoln Dodds.

In a news release Friday, the Booneville Police Department said an investigation by police, the Prentiss County Coroner's office and the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services determined that the toddler's father forgot to drop his son at the day care as he drove to work that morning. Police said the father returned to the day care after work around 4:55 p.m. to pick up his son and discovered that he had been in his vehicle the entire time.

It happened around 5:25 p.m. on Sunday in the 8000 block of north Co Rd 650E.

The family told investigators they had returned home from church in the afternoon and believed that someone had taken the toddler out of the car and put her down for a nap.

Lexington Police Department spokeswoman Brenna Angel said officers were sent about 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a home on a report of a deceased infant.

Based on a preliminary investigation, Angel said detectives believe a family member unintentionally left the child in a car for several hours Thursday.

News outlets report Pineville Police responded to a 911 call Thursday evening and found the 1-year-old boy in his car seat in a vehicle parked at a shopping center.


Responders tried life-saving measures, but the baby was pronounced dead at a hospital.

A 3-year-old girl died Tuesday after being left inside of a car for an estimated two to three hours in Gilbert, police said.

The child was found at around 12:09 p.m., in a neighborhood northwest of Higley and Elliot roads,Gilbert police said.

She was given medical treatment and taken to the hospital but later died, police said. Her name was not released by police and further details were not made available.

Police say 42-year-old Dawn Aberson-Vanden Broecke meant to drop off the child at day care on her way to work, but left him strapped into his safety seat in the backseat of her vehicle around 10 a.m. August 29 as she reported to her job.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) ? The Marion County Coroner has found a 1-year-old's cause of death was an environmental heat exposure accident.

The baby died after being left in a hot car at an AutoZone store in the 3800 block of East Washington Street back in May.

At the time, police told Eyewitness News the baby was found unresponsive in an SUV but could not confirm whether or not the child was left unattended.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KOB) ? A 2-year-old died died after being left in a vehicle in Hobbs, according to police.

Hobbs Police Chief John Ortolano said they received a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from a woman who said she had accidentally left a child in her vehicle for several hours.

Hobbs Fire and Rescue officials declared the child dead at the scene.

Authorities on Sunday identified the toddler who died Saturday after being left in a hot car for four hours.

Police said Liam Ordonez, 3, was accidentally left in the car at his home on the 10000 block of Tempestuous on Saturday afternoon.

He and his family had arrived home about 1 p.m. after a T-ball game, officials said. Liam?s parents each thought the other parent had taken him out of the car. About 5 p.m., they realized they hadn?t.

A toddler in California died after she was left for hours in a car -- with the heat on and a blanket covering her, according to a coroner's report as authorities said Monday they are investigating her death.

June Love Agosto, 2, died at a hospital on Sept. 23 after she was discovered inside her mother's vehicle in the unincorporated area of Torrance in Los Angeles County.


The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release that deputies at the Carson station responded to a location regarding a "baby not breathing call" and found the 2-year-old unresponsive. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics transported the girl to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

(CNN)Twin 3-year-old girls in foster care were found dead Sunday in a hot vehicle in Georgia, according to a statement by the City of Hinesville.

The statement said someone called 911 at 1:42 p.m. to report that two children who'd been missing had been found unresponsive in a vehicle in the backyard of a home.
First responders arrived and found the two deceased toddlers inside. The temperature was around 92 degrees Fahrenheit at the time, according to CNN Weather.

The aunt of a 2-year-old girl who died this month after being left buckled in a hot car in Destrehan has been arrested in connection with her death, St. Charles Parish authorities said Wednesday.

The girl, Avril Sanabria, died Oct. 4, authorities said. Her aunt, Lezly Sanabria, was booked Tuesday on a count of negligent homicide. She was released Wednesday after posting a $25,000 bond, according to Nelson Coleman Correctional Center in Killona.

Lancaster Child Found Dead Inside Vehicle

LANCASTER – A two-year-old Lancaster boy was found unconscious Sunday night at 8:50 p.m. in the 800 block of Birchwood Road. The cause of death was unknown at press time.

The boy’s aunt, who had custody of the child, found him in the family’s SUV. He was discovered missing five-and-a-half hours after the family returned from a trip to Houston.

There were reportedly six people in the SUV when the family returned home from the vacation.

Family members said they began to look for the young child when the aunt thought he was with his 14-year-old brother or one of his other two siblings.

The Tampa Police Department said the girl's parents called 911 around 6:30 p.m. after finding their toddler in their Jeep.

Police responded to a home in the 9400 block of North 19th Street. Upon arrival, they found the unconscious toddler inside the car.
