There is currently no regular testing and tracing regime in place for the more than 20,000 people who work in the dozen buildings that form the U.S. Capitol complex.

Both Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have resisted establishing one, at least partly because of the huge number of people involved, arguing that the 535 members of Congress should not cut ahead of others in more dire need of testing.

Members of the White House press pool have immediately reacted to the news of press secretary Kayleigh McEnany testing positive after she spoke to the media on Sunday without wearing a mask.
“Kayleigh McEnany has repeatedly spoken to reporters without a mask on. She has recklessly endangered lives,” New York Magazine’s Olivia Nuzzi tweeted mere minutes after the news broke.
CNN’s Jim Acosta shared an image of Ms McEnany’ speaking to the press outdoors briefly on Sunday without a mask on.

Thanks. I think there is a big difference in culpability between giving an interview in person before knowing a COVID-19 test positive and giving an interview in person after knowing a COVID-19 test positive. The msnbc story dated Oct. 5 says "yesterday" which refers to Oct. 4. As to the Independent article it appears McEnany "briefly" approached reporters outside sometime early Sunday morning without a mask on.

Oct. 8, 2020 -- Vice President Mike Pence’s left eye appeared red during Wednesday night’s vice presidential debate, leading internet users to guess that Pence has pinkeye -- a known symptom of COVID-19.

During the debate with Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris, Pence’s eye definitely appeared red. While the campaign and his office have not commented on his condition, it didn’t stop others from suggesting the vice president had pinkeye, officially known as conjunctivitis.

Mike Pence postpones Friday trip to Indiana, set to return to DC

WASHINGTON (KRON) — Vice President Mike Pence has postponed a Friday visit to Indiana, according to a statement from the vice president’s office.

Pence’s staff says both the vice president and his wife have tested negative for coronavirus and didn’t immediately explain the sudden change in plans.

.. Pence was in Arizona for his latest campaign stop Thursday. He was supposed to hold a rally in Peoria later in the day.

However, the vice president is reportedly heading back to D.C.
