[Summary] On October 11, 2019, the Singapore Food Bureau (SFA) issued a message saying that it would suspend the import of poultry and its products near the place where the low-pathogenic avian influenza outbreak occurred in the United States. a. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and H5 and H7 low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) are diseases that should be reported by exporting countries. b. According to the definition of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), meat-derived birds are not vaccinated with H5 and H7 subtype avian influenza vaccines. c. Poultry and meat products are not restricted from a radius of 1 km around the affected site in the town of Ramalol in the Soloni area of Loire-sur-Loire, France. d. Meat-derived poultry are born, raised and slaughtered in France, or day-old chicks legally imported from countries with the same poultry health status.

Temporary restrictions are imposed on the importation of poultry and its products and egg products within the scope. Heat treated poultry products that meet the inactivation requirements of the OIE Avian Influenza virus are not affected by import restrictions. For the purpose of customs clearance, when importing poultry and products from France, the veterinary health certificate must include the following additional certificates:
a. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and H5 and H7 low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) are diseases that should be reported by exporting countries.
