We are going to continue to list the human #H5N1 cases reported
by the states even if the CDC (federal) does not confirm. The
states have world class experts who know what they are doing.

2. Both California & Washington are reporting more
#H5N1 #birdflu cases than @CDCgov has confirmed; CA says
19, WA says 9 confirmed + 3 probables. I'm told 2 cases — 1
each from CA & WA — couldn't be confirmed by the CDC lab.
Probably too little virus on the swab. Those 2 won't make the list.

Our list in same format as CDC (see post #1 on this thread):

California = 21

Colorado = 10, 1 cattle contact & 9 poultry contacts

Michigan - 2, both cattle contact

Missouri - 2, unknown source - CDC only counts 1 of these cases

Texas - 3, all cattle, CDC only counts 1 of these cases. 2 other cases are cited in a research paper. It is possible one of the cases in the paper is the same case acknowledged by the CDC. Without a real CDC line list it is impossible to know with certainty.

Washington - 12, all poultry contact

Total = 50

Late yesterday WA state listed 2 more cases for a total of 14. This brings our list above to 52 known US cases. Please see post #1.

Washington - 14, all poultry contact

Total = 66

* We have to combine the states of Colorado and Michigan because the CDC did not give a state breakdown of the 8 sero positive cases.
