Florida’s resident death toll from coronavirus rose to 18,874 with the addition of 98 more reported fatalities on Thursday while also adding 10,870 more positive COVID-19 cases to bring the total to 1,029,030.
It’s the most reported deaths in a single day since Oct. 21, although it’s worth noting the deaths are from a span of weeks, just being reported for the first time.
The state Department of Health’s daily report also marked the highest single-day case total since July 25 and the first time over 10,000 since mid-November. Most days for the last month have been in the 4,000-8,000 case range, having only dipped below 4,000 once since Oct. 31.
