Re: US Deaths by State 2013-2014 Week 5 - total 1,347

I had to save screen shots in three segments to get the whole table in, but at least it's easier to read than the list. For reference, I included the FT counts from 2009-10.

It is notable that a number of states with large numbers from 2009-10 have curtailed reporting of adult flu deaths (AZ, CO, FL, IA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, NH, NJ, NY, VA, WI, WV, and WY). It is likely that if we used the same reporting criteria this season as was used in 2009-10, there would be a comparable number of deaths. If I use a modest estimate of deaths equalling 3% of hospitalizations for nine states that are reporting total hospitalizations, but not deaths, it would increase this year's total by another 140 deaths.

worse than 2009 (so far) : LA,MO,NV,OH,OK,SC,TN,TX,

I'd like a 3rd column for the amount of ILI,
but it's tedious

the 2009 deaths should also be available from wonder (if > 9)
