A weekly view of the data shows the Thanksgiving data backlogs coming in for tests, cases, and deaths. We should still assume that many of these very high case and death numbers are bc of the holiday effect. Hospitalizations are up almost 12% since last Saturday.

Today’s test number includes a backlog of about 226k tests from WA, which had not reported test encounters since Nov 22. We will try to get a time series to backfill the tests, but may not succeed. https://covidtracking.com/data/state/washington…

The 7-day average for reported COVID-19 deaths has risen to 2,123, surpassing the previous high of 2,116 recorded on April 21. Given data drops and spikes on and after Thanksgiving, the 7-average is an especially useful metric to watch right now.
