MOBILE, AL (WAFF) -

We have confirmed that health officials in Mobile are investigating a suspected case of Ebola.

Mobile Fire and Rescue transported a suspected Ebola patient to USA medical center on Tuesday, according to Steve Huffman, the Public Information Officer of Mobile Fire and Rescue.

She was showing symptoms associated with the Ebola virus. It is just suspected and not yet confirmed.

She said that she had family that had been in West Africa.

Because of the patient's reported symptoms and other factors, health officials decided the individual should be further evaluated by infectious disease specialists at an area hospital.
