* The weekly percent flu positive for Week 41 is likely the highest the program has seen at 64.5% (314/487), compared with 55% the previous week. The increasing trend is consistent with the previous several weeks. Positive specimens this week were 96% pH1N1, down from 98% last week.
* USAFSAM monitors ILI-associated hospitalizations using multiple
data sources including surveillance questionnaires. During Week 41, 459 surveillance questionnaires were entered into the database, ten of which indicated recent hospitalization. Nine were negative for influenza and one was positive for pH1N1. The base was contacted regarding the positive case and indicated the patient was not hospitalized.
* During Week 41, 50% of cases were Active Duty, 42% dependent children, and 8% spouses
