In Uganda, there is one confirmed death and 15 confirmed cases, including a Congolese resident who travelled to the United Arab Emirates, and then to Uganda.
WHO is working with public health authorities in Uganda and the UAE to gather additional information, assess the risk of exposure during travel, and to facilitate contact tracing.

The Ministry clarified that the relevant authorities in the UAE are maintaining close coordination with the World Health Organization and other relevant international health bodies regarding a traveler who had visited the UAE and whose infection was announced several days after he left the country and arrived in Uganda. No health authorities in the UAE have recorded him visiting any healthcare facility during his stay in the country.
