NEW DELHI:

Dengue cases continue to rise, particularly in the capital, with the Union Health Ministry confirming 107 deaths nationwide.

As many as 6,423 people are undergoing treatment, including 713 cases reported in the past 24 hours.

The highest number of deaths (31) occurred in Delhi, where 94 fresh cases were also reported taking the total number of patients to 1,651.

The deaths have been reported from Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

More cases have also been reported from Gujarat (6), Punjab (46), Haryana (9), Maharashtra (340), Rajasthan (84), Uttar Pradesh (21) and West Bengal (113).

As for chikungunya, 932 suspected cases were reported from various parts of the country during the past 24 hours, according to the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme.

The total number of confirmed cases is 1,653, of which 28 are from Delhi.
