Viral fever in dengue guise

KOLKATA: With winter fast yielding to spring, the scourge of season change has made a comeback. And while viral fever is no stranger to Kolkatans, what's scary this year is that it is mimicking the symptoms of the dreaded dengue.
Scores of panicked patients have got themselves admitted to hospitals in the last week alone with high fever and severe joint pain. Some even complained of body rashes, usually associated with the deadly dengue virus.
But no case has so far been confirmed as dengue and doctors believe this is a particularly virulent form of viral fever.
