طالب الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بان كي مون بمعاقبة كل من يتعرض للصحفيين ويقوم بإيذائهم.​

Asked United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to punish anyone who is for journalists and the abuse.

وقد تحدث بان كي مون عن أهمية حماية الصحفيين وذلك خلال احتفال وسط لندن لتخليد ذكرى الصحفيين الذين قتلوا أثناء أدائهم لعملهم في الميدان.​

The Ban Ki-moon talked about the importance of protecting journalists, during a ceremony central London to commemorate the memory of journalists who were killed while carrying out their work in the field.

وقد كانت الأمم المتحدة قد أصدرت قراراً قبل ثمانية عشر شهراً يقتضي اتخاذ إجراءات قانونية صارمة لمحاسبة من يتسبب بقتل الصحفيين وجلبهم للعدالة.​

The United Nations has issued a decision prior to eighteen months to take legal action requires strict accounting of causing the killing of journalists and bring them to justice.

حيث أشار بان كي مون إلى ضرورة التزام الدول بهذا القانون الدولي لحماية الصحفيين في أي مكان، وقال إن المعركة للبحث عن العدالة يجب أن تستمر وتتطلب الكثير من الشجاعة.​

Where Ban Ki-moon pointed to the need for commitment of States in this international law to protect journalists in any place, and said that the battle to search for justice must continue and require a lot of courage.

This is true.
