Ukrainian strikes target Russian oil facilities

Ukraine’s military said it had targeted oil facilities in Russia’s Samara and Volgograd regions, including the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery and several oil pumping and blending stations.

The Ukrainian General Staff said explosions and a fire were reported near the refinery in Volgograd, describing it as one of Russia’s major oil-processing facilities, with an annual capacity of about 15 million tons.

It also reported strikes on the Samara linear production station and the Samara-1 and Samara-2 pumping stations in the Samara region, where fires were reported near several facilities.

According to the Ukrainian side, the Samara station receives crude through a network of major pipelines and plays a role in storing and blending different types of crude to produce Urals oil for export.
