Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1,128 total

And the reports for the 3rd and 4th are released - the 3rd has 8 more deaths to 767, and the 4th is 38 more to 805. Donetsk has now reported 108 deaths so far, the most of any oblasts.

I suspect the fatality count on the 4th is so alarmingly large because of the low count on the 3rd - there may have been a delay in reporting.

As of the 4th, there are now 254 in ICU, 31 on respirators.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 759 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 759 total

Report as of 3rd January : 8 more deaths as follows:

7 in Eastern Ukraine : Dnipropetrovsk (1), Donetsk (3), Zaprorizhzhya (2), Kharkiv (1). Additionally one fatal case in Kyiv oblast (in centre)

Report as of 4th January 38 new fatal cases, most likely due to delayed reporting due to holidays

Vinnitsya (2), Dnipropetrovsk (4), Donetsk (8), Zaporizhzhya (2), Mykolayiv (4), Odessa (2), Rivne (2), Kharkiv (4), Kherson (1), Cherkassy (6), Chernihiv (3)

Eastern Ukraine (19), Centre (15), Western (4)

In my view, the rising number of ARI and H1N1 deaths in Ukraine, as seen in recent weeks, is of concern

For the 5th, they report 19 more deaths to 827 (maybe should be 22 more to keep numbers consistent), including 5 in Donetsk (113 total).

Now 257 in ICU, 31 on respirator. The total number in hospital does seem to be declining slightly.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 827 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 827 total

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14564

23 more deaths to 882 as of the 8th, with 216 in ICU and 32 on respirator.

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14563

8 more deaths to 859 on the 7th, with 227 in ICU and 33 on respirator.

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14562

24 more deaths to 851 on the 6th, with 220 in ICU and 35 on respirator.

It seems that the MOH has caught up with the past three days worth of statistics. It does seem like the number of new ARI and hospitalizations seems to be declining, and only 12 of the 27 oblasts are now above epidemic threshhold. Donetsk, which is now at 124 deaths, has about 1,800 still in hospital, having discharged over 90% of its hospitalizations, of whom only 4 are in ICU, and no one is on a respirator.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 882 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 882 total

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14584

20 more deaths on the 11th to 918 total.

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14583

3 deaths on the 10th to 898 total (and only 9,300 ARI).

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14582

13 deaths on the 9th to 895 total.

It is obvious that many hospitals are not reporting on Sundays, and that Sunday numbers are only partial reports. That said, only five oblasts are now above the epidemic threshhold, and Donetsk, with 130 deaths now, is in the green as a "safe" region. The total number in ICU is 219, including 30 on respirators. The total number in hospital is about 36,000, down from a peak of over 40,000 at the height of the "second" wave.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 940 total

11 more deaths today to 951 total. Donetsk reports two of them, including a child, to 136 total. Now 176 in ICU, 23 on ventilators (that is a large drop in the number on ventilators - I suspect today's deaths were patients already on ventilators, as opposed to many previous days when it looks like the deaths were not medically attended - i.e. hadn't been already admitted to ICU).

A whole bunch of discharges, and now less than 33,500 in hospital total.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 974 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 974 total

Seven more deaths on the 16th to 981 total, including number 141 in Donetsk. Now 136 in ICU, 17 on respirator. Only three patients in ICU in Donetsk, none of whom are on respirators.

Only 19,000 ARI, which is fairly light for a Saturday and seems to be consistent with the possiblility that the second wave is in decline.

We will see what Sunday the 17th brings, knowing that Sunday's have been "partial" reports in the past.

Five more deaths today, including 2 in Donetsk to 986 total. Now 135 in ICU, 13 on ventilators.

There is a strong suspicion that today's two deaths in Donetsk are two of yesterday's three ICU patients, as there is now only one person in ICU in Donetsk.

Just 7,252 ARI today.

Ten more deaths, 5 of them in Donetsk (likely not medically attended because of the above post - still only 2 in ICU) to a total of 996. 30,000 ARI today, which still isn't that high considering how low the past two days were.

Now 126 in ICU (another slight drop), 13 of them on respirator.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 996 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 996 total

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14641

Seven more deaths today to 1005 total (so probably really nine deaths), of which five are in Donetsk. Now down to 110 in ICU, 14 on respirators. Also, a slight increase in discharges (probably catch-up reporting from the weekend), bringing the total number hospitalized across the country down to about 32,000. Only four oblasts above the epidemic threshhold now.

What is going on in Donetsk? - They have reported more deaths in that oblast than in the rest of the country combined each of the past two days. Of note is that they are still reporting only one person in ICU today. Possibly Donetsk is not putting severe cases into the ICU in time to save their lives? We know (from another FT thread (http://www.flutrackers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139515) that Donetsk is still finding H1N1 in over 70% of the fatalities, so the problem is clearly not a second agent. I also doubt lack of medical facilities (i.e. a shortage of ICU beds) is to blame, as Donetsk is one of the larger cities in that country, so would likely have better medical facilities than more remote areas.

Nine more deaths today, to 1014 total. Four of the nine are in Donetsk. Down to 104 in ICU (lowest in weeks), 14 on respirators. Donetsk has just 3 in ICU, none on respirator.

Two of today's deaths are pregnant women, and a third one is a child.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1019 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1019 total

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14662

Nine deaths today to 1,030 total (so probably really 11 deaths), four of which are in Donetsk, bringing them to 161. Donetsk now reports 8 in ICU (none on respirator), which seems more consistent than the 1-3 they have been reporting for the past week - perhaps they are trying more intensive treatment to save severe cases?

Total 30,100 in hospital (the lowest figure in weeks), including 113 in ICU, 11 on respirator.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1030 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1030 total

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14664

A single death today to 1037 total. Now 81 in ICU, 10 of them on respirator.

http://www.moz.gov.ua/ua/main/press/?docID=14663

Four deaths on the 23rd to 1036 total (so probably really six deaths since the 22nd was at 1030). 102 in ICU, 11 on respirator.

Notably, 21 people came out of ICU today on the 24th, and at most one of them was a fatality (and that might have been a different case than yesterday's 102 ICU cases), so at least 20 severe cases recovered enough to be removed from ICU today. Donetsk is back down to 3 in ICU, so four of those cases (at least) are in Donetsk.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

I think they may have stopped counting. No new numbers have been released for five days, and the MOH has continued to release other reports (such as counts of hypothermia cases) and various documents on drug issues and heart care.

Perhaps they feel the outbreak is winding down, or perhaps they don't trust their estimates of ARI cases anymore.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

Strange. Anticipated an "end of week update" since daily updates havent happened for a number of days. Leaves plenty of fodder for speculation.

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

Re: Ukraine MOH: Daily Counts: 1037 total

http://www.flutrackers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139766

The last post of this thread indicates that as of this morning, Donetsk has 166 deaths, up four from the 162 five days ago. So this outbreak does appear slowing down. But at least that oblast is still counting. (So we do know that the countrywide total is at least 1041, but that is likely an understatement, as it would only count fatalities in the past five days if they were in Donetsk.)

Note also the hospitalization numbers. Only about 380 in hospital in Donetsk, down from nearly 3,000 at one point.

It also indicates that of the 166 fatal cases, 107 have tested positive for H1N1, 55 negative, and 4 are still pending.
