Five more deaths to 468 total, including 2 in Donetsk, which now has 37. Total 112 in ICU, 8 of them on ventilators. Five oblasts are now above the epidemic threshhold.

There seems to be some sign of a second wave here.

Five people die of flu, pneumonia in past 24 hours in Ukraine
Today at 11:21 | Interfax-Ukraine

A total of 468 people have died of flu and flu-like illnesses in Ukraine as of late on Monday, December 7.

Five people have died of flu and its complications (pneumonia) over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Health Ministry reported.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, nearly 2.104 million people have contracted flu and respiratory infections, including 47,379 people over the past 24 hours.

A total of 128,851 people have been hospitalized since the start of the epidemic (October 29), including 2,551 over the past 24 hours. Of those hospitalized, 102,510 people have been discharged from hospitals.

The epidemic threshold is exceeded in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Luhansk and Sumy regions.

Eight more deaths to 487, including three new ones in Donetsk, and one in Lviv (#97 there). Total 123 in ICU, 11 on respirators. The highest number in ICU is 11 in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Seven oblasts above the epidemic threshhold, and over 70,000 new cases today.

Six more deaths today, including two in Donetsk, to a total of 496. Now 110 in ICU, 11 on respirator.

About 19,000 cases of flu/ARVI today (but may be low count due to weekend - I expect a high number tomorrow).

They are reporting four more deaths, and a total of 501. That is a discrepancy, since they were at 496 yesterday. I am looking for it now.

Found it. Region #1, Crimea, has increased from 2 to 3 deaths without reporting a death. Either that is an error, and the death toll is 500, or there should be five deaths reported today.

Over 83,000 cases of flu/ARVI today, and now 114 in ICU, 14 on respirator.

Definitely a rebound in flu activity, as 13 oblasts are now above the epidemic threshhold.

Six more deaths to 507 (indicating that yesterday really was at 501 - Oblast #1 must have had a third death yesterday, because they now have a fourth one today).

143,941 ILI cases with 4,612 hospitalizations today.

129 in ICU, 11 on ventilator.

Six more deaths to 513. Now 143 in ICU, 16 of them on respirators. Donetsk continues to the be oblast with the largest current outbreak, reporting its 49th death today, and now has 16 in ICU, although none on respirator.

Today's counts are 112,116 ILI, 4,219 hospitalizations.

Five more deaths to 518 total. Over 94,000 reported ARI today, with 3,751 reported hospitalizations. Now 148 in ICU, 13 on respirators.

Of note is that several other oblasts now have more ARI cases than Lviv (inlcuding Kyiv and Donetsk), but less than half the total fatalities, indicating that treatment is saving lives (many of the Lviv deaths died before H1N1 was even indentified in Ukraine).

13 more deaths on the 19th for a total of 539, after eight deaths on the 18th to 526 total. Both reports released just now. Now 159 in ICU, and a whopping 27 on respirator. Those numbers represent a sharp increase in severe cases (respirator had been between 10-15 for the past two weeks), the result of the large ARI numbers of earlier in the week.

Now over 3 million ARI since the start of the outbreak.

Six more deaths to 545.

This is an unusual report, likely due to the fact that this is Sunday. Ony 18,000 ARI cases, and a huge drop in the number of patients on respirator, from 27 yesterday to 11 today. That means at least 10 patients were weaned from respirators, unless today's report is in error.

All oblasts did report data today, but I have a suspicion that today is not complete data, and that the next two days will bring large ARI counts, both due to delayed reporting, and possibly the estimation errors Rick has mentioned.

Eleven more deaths, including a child in Donetsk (#59 there) today to 556. Over 79,000 ARI today, which is high, but not as high as I had expected based on Sunday's report.

177 now in ICU, 16 of them on respirators.

All oblasts but five over the epidemic threshhold, and two of the five that aren't over it are Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, which were hit heavily in October, and may not have that many susceptible people left.
