Another case of diphtheria confirmed in Ternopol region

The case of diphtheria of a 47-year-old man is confirmed in Ternopil region as Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine reported on Facebook citing Public Health Center of Ukraine.
According to the Healthcare Ministry, a man contacted with three people, including one child. The disinfection was held at the place of residence of the patient.
According to the report, a man was vaccinated in 2017; there is no information about previous mandatory eight vaccinations.
“The vaccination against diphtheria forms the antitoxic immunity, which protects from the grave progress of a disease. The vaccination in 2017 formed the sufficient level of the antitoxic immunity that prevented the development of severe complications,” the message said.
Earlier the case of diphtheria of a schoolchild was confirmed in Kyiv. Another two cases were spotted in Uzhhorod.
