More swine flu cases confirmed

A further 117 patients in England have been confirmed with swine flu, bringing the UK total to 1,164, health officials said.
There have now been 691 cases confirmed in England, seven in Northern Ireland and three in Wales, according to the Health Protection Agency.
And the number of confirmed cases in Scotland now stands at 463, according to figures released tonight by the Scottish Government.
Of the new cases, 70 were in the West Midlands, where 299 people have now been affected.
Fifty-five more cases of swine flu were confirmed in Scotland on Saturday, with 42 of them coming from the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area.
A Department of Health spokesman said: "The localised cases of swine flu found in the UK have so far been generally mild in most people, but are proving to be severe in a small minority of cases.
"We are continuing to work to slow the spread of the disease and to put in place arrangements to ensure that the UK is well-placed to deal with this new infection."
On Friday, Health Secretary Andy Burnham encouraged people not to panic after the World Health Organisation announced the world is now in the grip of a flu pandemic, the first in more than 40 years.
He said the UK was well-prepared and the WHO's announcement did not affect the assessment of how the virus was behaving in the UK.
The last flu pandemic in 1968 killed about a million people. Around 30,000 cases of swine flu have so far been detected in 74 countries and 145 people have died worldwide.
