Swine flu girl dies in hospital
A Berkshire schoolgirl has died from swine flu after being admitted to a London hospital.
NHS Berkshire East revealed the girl died at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, on 11 November.
She had tested positive for the H1N1 virus, a statement said, but no further details were released by the primary care trust.
A Slough Borough Council spokesperson said the girl had been a pupil at a school in the town.
NHS Berkshire East said it was working with the Thames Valley Health Protection Unit and the "relevant local authority" to offer support and advice.
It extended its sympathies to "the child's family, friends, school and community at this time".
