Radcliffe Primary School has sent a letter home to parents

Health bosses have issued an alert to parents after a child at a nursery was struck down with a meningococcal infection.

The infection involves the bacteria which can lead to meningitis or septicaemia, Public Health England confirmed.

No age or sex for the child has been revealed.

The nursery is based at Radcliffe Primary School on Coronation Road in Radcliffe, near Bury. The school has sent a letter home to parents, urging vigilance...
