Levels of the virus aren't near the pandemic two years ago

FEARS over the spread of flu has led to doctors giving anti-viral drugs to those most at risk.

Levels of the virus are far from those of the pandemic two years ago but health chiefs are worried enough to order GPs to take action.

The move comes after a rapid increase in the numbers seeing their doctor and calling NHS Direct, plus admissions to intensive care or high-dependency units..
