Bird flu outbreaks were confirmed in two parts of Cambridgeshire on Monday, October 31, as the infection spreads among animals across the UK. Birds were culled near Somersham in Huntingdon and March in the Fens because of two separate outbreaks, the government has said.

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) and the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) said that avian influenza was detected in "commercial housed poultry" near Somersham and "other captive birds" near March. In the former case, a 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone were implemented around the affected area while in the latter a 3km captive bird (monitoring) controlled zone was implemented...
