Public Health letter sent out as local student admitted to hospital (isle of Man)

Public Health has issued a letter to parents as a child at St Ninians's was admitted to hospital with suspected meningococcal disease.

Government stated no members of the school community are identified as close contacts, and the bacteria 'very rarely spreads from child to child' within class or school.

Meningococcal disease can cause both meningitis and Septicaemia, and the common symptoms include high temperature and rapid breathing...
