More dog flu cases diagnosed in Harris County

The number of dog flu cases in Harris County and nearby locations continues to rise.

The Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL) reports that it has now diagnosed eight positive cases of H3N2 virus this summer, which is the same strain found in Florida where the latest outbreak started. This is up from five the laboratory diagnosed in mid-June.

This is the first time TVMDL has positively diagnosed H3N2 since it first appeared in the U.S. in 2015, said veterinarian Cheryl Maguire, who has been with the lab since Dec. 2014...
