New South Wales Health has confirmed a woman and a man in Sydney were infected with Zika virus after travelling to Central America.
But the NSW Health director of communicable diseases Vicky Sheppeard said there was no reason to be alarmed.
"We know there isn't a means to spread the infection in NSW," Dr Sheppeard said.
"We do know that in most cases it's a relatively mild disease so people may not always seek medical attention and get the testing done," she said.
