MOSCOW. May 1 (Interfax) - Two Russian women were hospitalized in
Moscow as suspected cases of swine flu after returning from the United
States but "are in satisfactory condition," Russia's chief sanitary
official said on Friday.
"Both women are citizens of the Russian Federation. One of them
arrived in Russia from New York yesterday, the other today. They had a
high body temperature, and, in compliance with our requirements, they
were hospitalized," Gennady Onishchenko told Interfax.
The women, who were admitted to an infectious diseases hospital,
had undergone swine flu tests, he said.
"Since they are running temperatures, they are receiving necessary
treatment. Both are in satisfactory condition," Onishchenko said.
