Two new cases of C.diff at Gartnavel Hospital ward

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) said a total of seven patients had been affected at Gartnavel General.

The ward was closed after two people with C.diff died. One of the deaths was not related to the bug and tests are being carried out in the second case.

The ward remains closed and infection control measures are in place.

NHS GGC said that two of the seven patients were now no longer symptomatic and had been discharged.

Three patients remain on the ward, are being nursed in isolation and are not giving cause for concern.
