Two Indiana college students ill with suspected swine flu

Just one week into classes, two Indiana universities have reported students with suspected cases of swine flu.
This weekend officials at both Purdue University in West Lafayette and Butler University in Indianapolis confirmed one case each for the H1N1 flu virus.
The student at Butler has officially been diagnosed with Type A influenza; but the State Department of Health says anyone with that type of flu should be treated as if they have the H1N1 virus.
The student lives in a fraternity and has been isolated from the other members of the house.
The Purdue student has also been isolated and is undergoing treatment.
Health officials say students are at a high risk of getting the virus so it?s important to constantly wash your hands and stay home at any on-set of the flu.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ? Purdue University is reporting that 47 students who have sought treatment at a campus clinic likely have cases of H1N1.
Purdue Student Health Center director James Westman said Wednesday that all of the students appear to have relatively mild cases, much like the seasonal flu.
The patients have been advised to take the same steps they would for any type of flu.
Westman says he?s been advised to consider all cases of flu to be likely H1N1 cases because the fall flu season has not yet begun.
Purdue officials have also heard from a local urgent care center reporting that doctors there have seen students with flu-like symptoms. People younger than 25 years old are believed to have little or no immunity to the H1N1 virus.

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) -
A southern Indiana college has reported its first cases of flu this fall.
Officials at Vincennes University said two students have been confined to their dorm rooms after coming down with probable cases of H1N1.
The university said both students were diagnosed with the flu over the weekend, and are being told not to return to class until their fever has been gone for 24 hours. Neither officials nor students are surprised the cases showed up.
"With the ease with which this particular flu transmits from one person to another, it's not bee a question of if. It's been a question of when," Vincennes University provost Dr. Ron Davis said.
